SEREMBAN, Jan 1 (Bernama) -- The Port Dickson Army Museum has introduced entry fees for visitors starting today, ending 19 years of free admission since its establishment.
In a notice shared on its official Facebook page, the museum announced that Malaysian adults will be charged RM2, while children aged seven to 12, persons with disabilities (PWD), and senior citizens will pay RM1. Entry remains free for children below the age of six.
For non-Malaysians, the entry fee is set at RM5 for adults and RM2 for children aged seven to 12, PWD and senior citizens. Children under six can still enter for free.
The museum, which officially opened its doors on June 28. 2005, operates from Wednesday to Sunday and on public holidays, between 1.00 am and 5.00 pm. The last ticket sale is at 4.30 pm.
Previously, Bernama reported that the state government had recommended implementing reasonable entry fees at both the Port Dickson Ornamental Fish Centre and the Port Dickson Army Museum to support maintenance costs for these popular tourist destinations.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said these two attractions, which are among Port Dickson’s key highlights, recorded 154,074 and 201,113 visitors, respectively, in 2024.
Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan Fisheries deputy director Doreen Wee Siew Leen confirmed to Bernama that the Port Dickson Ornamental Fish Centre continues to operate with free admission as of now.
