KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 3 (Bernama) -- Former president of the Institute of Shariah Auditors Malaysia (ISAM), Abdul Khudus Mohd Naaim, has been appointed as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YAPEIM), effective Jan 1.
YAPEIM chief executive officer and director-general, Ameer Ali Vali Mohamed, said in a statement today Abdul Khudus’ appointment was made by the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, with the approval of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Ameer Ali said that Abdul Khudus, 70, has been serving as a member of YAPEIM's Board of Trustees since March 20, 2023, and is a certified accountant.
"He has extensive experience in Islamic finance, takaful, accounting, and auditing. He has also previously held positions such as ISAM president (2019-2024), accreditation panel member of the Finance Accreditation Agency (2012-2023), and audit committee member of the Perak Islamic Religious Council (2009-2014).
"YAPEIM congratulates him on this appointment and hopes that under this new leadership, YAPEIM will continue to achieve greater success, in line with the aspirations of the Najjah Project launched in 2023," he added.
At the same time, YAPEIM expressed its appreciation for the service of the previous chairman, Datuk Mohd Radzif Mohd Yunus, who held the position from Oct 7, 2022, to Dec 31, 2024.
