PUTRAJAYA, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- After Melaka, the second edition of the PETRA Squad Southern Zone Tour continued in Johor to review the current developments in the energy sector, particularly renewable energy, and to monitor the enforcement agenda for the energy and water sectors.
Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said the tour also aimed to assess the progress and achievements of relevant projects under the ministry.
“This tour provides an opportunity for top management, such as today, where I’m joined by the ministry’s secretary-general and department heads, to evaluate the performance of projects and programmes that have been implemented.
“We often set policies, but their implementation must be ensured to run smoothly, especially when involving touchpoint services to the public,” he told Bernama after flagging off the PETRA Squad Southern Zone Tour at PETRA Tower today.
He added that the squad would travel from the northern to southern regions of Johor, before heading to the central districts of the state.
Among the locations to be visited are the ChargeEV Tangkak EV charging station, the solar panel installation at Johor Premium Outlets and the efficient power plant at Southern Power Generation in Pasir Gudang.
Other stops include the Malaysia-Singapore Senibong Switching Station 230kV, the installation of Smart Metering in Johor Bahru and the Indah Water Konsortium Sewage Treatment Plant in Taman Pelangi.
The two-day tour is a continuation of the first series of visits to Melaka, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof on Nov 16.
