DPM Fadillah Praises Sarawak Premier Abang Johari As Visionary Leader

KUCHING, Jan 12 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has described Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg as a committed and visionary leader in governing the state.

Fadillah said Abang Johari has achieved significant milestones, particularly in his commitment to increasing Sarawak's revenue and his forward-thinking approach in exploring new sectors.

“If we look at the budgets tabled each year, we can see how creative the efforts have been in generating financial resources for Sarawak, with a focus on new economies, whether in the form of digital, renewable energy, or green economy initiatives.

“This has earned him recognition not only at the international level but also nationally, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim himself acknowledging him as a creative leader,” he said after attending the closing ceremony of the “Singgah Lok Karnival Sahabat Usahawan Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM)” Kuching branch here today.

He said this in response to a question about Abang Johari's leadership as he marks his eighth anniversary as Sarawak Premier tomorrow.

In his speech at the event, Fadillah said AIM has achieved its goals of helping B40 women improve household economies through entrepreneurship support and guidance.

He noted that in Sarawak, about 42,000 B40 women entrepreneurs have benefited from AIM loans to develop their businesses, with 99.08 per cent successfully repaying their loans.

“Once you have achieved success, maintain it, enhance your knowledge and skills, and expand your networks to reach the global level to further grow your businesses,” he said.
