MELAKA, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- A total of 713 Form Four students from 61 schools in Melaka, who come from less privileged backgrounds, received tablets to ease their learning activities which involve elements of technology and digital tools.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said that the student tablets were contributed by the federal government under the Anak Kita: Semarak Potensi Malaysia Programme.
“The digital world will become much more challenging in the future, and these children are being taught to understand the digital world and explore new fields because the future of the world will soon depend on artificial intelligence (AI). Therefore, this (digital) learning must begin now.
“At the same time, I hope that human civilisation and Islamic values can be used as boundaries to guide our lives in the future,” he told reporters after the distribution of the tablets and collaborative certificate for the Anak Kita Programme here today.
Present were the State Secretary Datuk Azhar Arshad, director-general of the MADANI Monitoring Unit at the Prime Minister’s Office Mohd Khalid Mohamed Latif, and acting director of the State Education Department, Karim Tumin.
Meanwhile, in his speech, Mohd Khalid said that the Anak Kita Programme aims to focus on providing support for the recovery of learning among students nationwide.
He said that it also specifically focuses on improving the results of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) to ensure that students not only pass but achieve better results.
“Steps will also be taken to bring back students who have dropped out and ensure that all children have access to quality education without anyone being left behind,” he added.
