1,000 In Terengganu Receive Aid Through Ihsan MADANI Initiative

CHUKAI, Jan 21 (Bernama) -- A total of 1,000 people in Terengganu, comprising flood victims and the needy, received the Ihsan MADANI contribution today.

The contribution, amounting to RM120,000, was presented by special officer in the Prime Minister’s Office Muhammad Fikri Abdul Aziz on behalf of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Muhammad Fikri said that the Ihsan MADANI contribution, coordinated by the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister's Department, aimed to ease the financial burden of those in need.

He said that it was also part of a tour programme to reach out to and demonstrate concern for the people nationwide.

“Terengganu is the fourth state in the Ihsan MADANI tour after Perlis, Kedah, and Penang. Tomorrow, we will go to Kelantan to present donations to about 1,000 recipients,” he told reporters after presenting the aid at the Kemaman Youth and Sports Office and Rakan Muda Complex here.

In addition to cash donations, the recipients received aid in the form of groceries, organised through a collaboration with Persatuan Amal Ikatan Setia Kasih Terengganu.

Meanwhile, a recipient, Yong Kim San, 61, said that the donation would help him prepare for the upcoming Chinese New Year.

“This assistance clearly shows the unity government’s concern for the people’s struggles. Given the current economic challenges, assistance from the government is much needed,” he said.

Zarudin Ismail, 53, a recipient from Felda Neram 1 and father of five, said that he would use the aid to purchase groceries for his family.

“The various types of assistance provided by the MADANI government reflect the Prime Minister’s concern for the people, regardless of their political background. In addition to the Ihsan MADANI contribution, I am also a recipient of the Rahmah Cash Aid (STR),” he said.
