KUCHING, Jan 31 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department has deployed additional personnel from the Miri and Sibu divisions to Bintulu to assist flood rescue operations in affected areas.
Its deputy director, Tiong Ling Hii said the reinforcements, who arrived in Bintulu yesterday, aim to improve the efficiency and expand the scope of ongoing flood rescue operations.
With the bolstered team, the total number of personnel involved in the flood operation in Bintulu has now reached 72, he said in a Facebook post today.
"Additionally, 23 logistical assets including small boats, machinery, trucks and Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), have been mobilised to support the rescue operations," Tiong added.
