13/02/2025 12:54 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil hopes that radio will continue to serve as an agent of unity, regardless of background, and not as a divider of the people

In conjunction with World Radio Day today, he said radio plays the role of a conduit to disseminate knowledge, as well as foster unity among people of all races.

"For so long, radio has been an extremely important medium for delivering information, entertainment and education to the public.

"Thank you to all radio staff, both on-air and behind the scenes, who constantly strive and show extraordinary commitment. Happy World Radio Day!,” he posted on Facebook today.

World Radio Day is celebrated on Feb 13 each year, with this being the 15th anniversary since the day was designated by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 2011.
