GMI's Increased Revenue Driven By Demand In Information Technology Sector - MARA DG

BANGI, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- The German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) recorded an increase in revenue of RM45.3 million for 2024, driven by high demand in the information technology sector.

Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) director-general Datuk Seri Azhar Abdul Manaf said apart from positive revenue developments, cost control and savings measures also contributed to a 207 per cent jump in profit before tax.

"GMI continues to strengthen its reputation with the opening of the German Language Centre as well as highlighting the success of the 2024 Industry Advisory Council (IAC) Conference, which successfully provided students with the opportunity to undergo industrial training at leading companies such as Siemens and Bosch.

"Following this success, GMI received the ABMS ISO 37001:2016 accreditation and was upgraded to GMI University College of Applied Science (GMI-UcAS)," he said when attending the ceremony at GMI today.

This success of GMI was shared by Azhar during the MARA Director-General’s ‘Majlis Amanat’ Ceremony with the GMI Bangi Employees, which was attended by 250 participants.

In his mandate session, he emphasisd that the success in managing the organisation resulted from the freedom given to the employees in their work, which has brought many reforms to MARA.

He hoped that MARA would continue to move forward boldly to achieve excellence and make it a proud organisation of excellence.

Also present were GMI Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Solihin Mohamed Yusoff, as well as MARA's management and subsidiaries.
