PUTRAJAYA, Feb 20 (Bernama) -- The Human Resources Ministry today convened the inaugural State Executive Councillors Coordination (MEX KESUMA) meeting to enhance collaboration between the federal and state governments on human resource-related issues.

The meeting serves as a structured platform for discussions between both levels of government, aiming to address grassroots challenges and develop holistic, inclusive solutions.

"The first MEX KESUMA meeting focuses on strengthening coordination between the federal and state governments in planning and implementing human capital development programmes.

"In addition, it also addresses critical issues such as skills training development, labour rights enforcement, occupational safety and health, industrial relations, trade unions, and social protection," Minister Steven Sim told reporters after attending the meeting here today.

Sim said MEX KESUMA also aims to formulate joint strategies to ensure Malaysia’s workforce remains competitive in an evolving global market.

He emphasised that the platform plays a crucial role in ensuring that workforce-related policies and programmes are implemented consistently and effectively nationwide while calling for greater collaboration among all stakeholders.

"We hope that MEX KESUMA will serve as a catalyst for comprehensive workforce solutions, ultimately benefiting workers, employers, and society as a whole," he said.
