TUARAN, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- The Ukhwah MADANI programme at Tuaran Hospital here focuses on the welfare of patients, particularly children receiving treatment in the ward.

Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM) deputy director-general (Management) Roslan Mat Nong said the programme not only provided moral support and joy to young patients but also extended assistance to their families in the form of essential supplies and psychological aid.

“This programme symbolises the cooperation between the hospital and AKM in efforts to enhance the country’s health system and provide better services to the community,” he said in a statement to Bernama today.

Roslan said the event also marked the renaming of the Tuaran Hospital Porter Unit, now known as the Tuaran Hospital Ihsan Unit.

He added that the launch of the Ihsan Unit was formalised with the signing of an official plaque by AKM director-general Datuk Dr Roslan Hussin and hospital representatives.

According to Roslan, the Ukhwah MADANI programme reflected AKM’s commitment to building a more cohesive, knowledgeable, and caring society.

The programme, held simultaneously in Kampung Darau, Manggatal, Buhavon Square, Penampang, and Tuaran Hospital yesterday, demonstrated the collective efforts of the government, community, and private sector in strengthening unity and enhancing the well-being of the people.

“This programme provides the local community with a deeper understanding of the government's current policies, especially Malaysia MADANI.

“It will continue in the future, with plans for expansion to include more locations and activities that will benefit a larger number of people,” he said.
