MELAKA, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) has expanded its strategic partnerships at the international level through the signing of two memoranda of understanding (MoU) with a university and agency from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Its vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Massila Kamalrudin said the partnerships involve UTeM with UAE Academy and Innovation Floor Ardhiyat Al Ibdaa Information Solutions.
"The MoU between UTeM and UAE Academy is focused on strengthening strategic partnerships in the academic field and student and teacher exchange mobility programmes.
"We will also develop a UTeM learning centre at UAE Academy to provide facilities to students there to undertake whatever joint programmes,” he said in a statement here today.
Massila said the MoU with Innovation Floor Ardhiyat Al Ibdaa Information Solutions was focused on strengthening research and innovation in line with the current global technological developments, with a focus on artificial intelligence, robotic engineering, development technology and battery manufacturin.
The MoUs were also part of the Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka Tun Mohd Ali Rustam’s, who is UTeM chancellor, official working visit to the UAE recently, he said.
He also shared that UTeM is targeting over seven grants from Ajman University and one UTeM employee will begin a UTeM technical internationalisation scheme at the university.
