EAIC Reaches Out To Community Through ERAT Ramadan Programme

KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 (Bernama) -- The Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) is committed to strengthening the public sector’s role in safeguarding national integrity through community outreach programmes.

Its commissioner Datuk Seri Dr Yusof Ismail said enforcement agencies must responsibly fulfil their pledges and trusts to prevent revenue leakage and uphold national integrity.

“When we relate the concept of saf in prayer to the duties of enforcement agencies, we are always required to stand in a straight and strong line and stay true to what we pledge and say.

“Each enforcement agency has its own pledges that must be fulfilled with trust,” he told the media at the ERAT Ramadan 2025 Programme, organised by EAIC in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and Warisan Ummah Ikhlas here today.

Also present was Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

Themed ‘Instilling Inspiration, Strengthening Integrity’, today’s programme includes the EAIC #QURANHOUR, featuring reflections on Surah As-Saf with an emphasis on integrity, along with a bubur lambuk cooking activity for distribution to participants.

Yusof said EAIC also strived to foster closer community engagement, ensuring that the public could easily reach enforcement agencies and that integrity and enforcement issues could be addressed early.

“This is the second year we are organising this programme. Last year, the programme at the Federal Territory Mosque in Kuala Lumpur drew over 10,000 people, including some who travelled by bus from Kelantan. We also highlighted integrity and the importance of self-purification, in keeping with the blessings of Ramadan,” he said.

As part of EAIC’s strategic planning for this year, Yusof said similar community outreach programme would be carried out nationwide.

“A similar programme in Sarawak last year received an encouraging response. We plan to hold this programme in Terengganu this May,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mohd Na’im commended the organiser for involving not only enforcement agency staff but the wider public, in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s strong stance against corruption and abuse of power.

“This is my second year attending this programme, and this time, it feels more meaningful with reflections on Surah As-Saf, which emphasise trust and integrity,” he said.

Nearly 2,000 participants took part in today’s programme, including staff from 21 enforcement agencies under EAIC’s supervision.
