KUALA TERENGGANU, June 5 (Bernama) -- All shopping complexes, hypermarkets and supermarkets within the Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT) jurisdiction have been ordered to fully close on 10 Zulhijjah (June 7).
Kuala Terengganu Mayor Datuk Jusman Ibrahim said fast-food outlets, 24-hour and convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, Mr DIY, Treleaf Market and Eco-Shop are ordered to close from midnight on 10 Zulhijjah until 1 pm the following day.
He said the directive was issued to honour the sanctity of Aidiladha and to allow those performing the sacrificial ritual to carry out their tasks smoothly.
“MBKT seeks the cooperation of all parties to refrain from operating their businesses during the specified date and hours, on June 7.
“Action will be taken against businesses which fail to comply with the directive under applicable regulations,” he said.
