PUTRAJAYA, July 1 (Bernama) -- MYNIC Bhd, an agency under the Digital Ministry, has officially launched a strategic collaboration with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) to offer a simplified and integrated registration process for .COM.MY domain names to newly registered businesses.
Effective today, businesses registering with SSM can obtain a .COM.MY domain at a promotional rate of RM60 per year, lower than the usual retail price of RM80.
According to the country’s official domain registry, this initiative is aimed at reducing the digital entry barrier for local enterprises and enhancing their online presence through the adoption of trusted national domain names.
In a statement today, MYNIC chief executive officer Datuk Hasnul Fadhly Hasan said the initiative is expected to drive greater use of local digital assets while supporting broader efforts to strengthen the domestic digital economy.
“The .MY domain is widely trusted by users and adds credibility to local online businesses. This initiative not only promotes digital transformation but also supports stronger branding and engagement in the digital economy,” he said.
He added that the effort is expected to boost .MY domain registrations, encourage digital adoption among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and help improve Malaysia’s ranking in the Global Innovation Index.
