Asman Shah Appointed New Johor State Secretary

JOHOR BAHRU, July 7 (Bernama) -- Johor Deputy State Secretary  (Development) Datuk Asman Shah Abd Rahman today took the oath of office as the new State Secretary.

He replaces Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani, who has been appointed the Comptroller of the Royal Household, Istana Negara, effective July 1.

The matter was announced via a Facebook post by the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, who also attended the event held at Balai Mengadap, Istana Bukit Serene here today

The ceremony was also attended by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and the Johor Royal Court Council president, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahim Ramli.

Asman Shah was appointed the Deputy State Secretary (Development) on Oct 1 last year, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Chiba University, Japan.

He has held various positions, including as Johor Bahru District Officer, Pasir Gudang Mayor, Johor Tourism Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Johor Biotechnology and Biodiversity Corporation.

Meanwhile, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi expressed his gratitude for the appointment and hoped that Asman Shah would continue to uphold the state's tradition of excellence and drive further progress.

"We are confident that with his appointment, InsyaAllah, Johor will continue to prosper, and we will work together harmoniously to safeguard and develop the state we all love.

“At the same time, I would like to convey our highest appreciation to former Johor State Secretary Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani, who has dedicated around eight years of service to Johor. He has contributed greatly and shown immense kindness throughout his tenure,”   he said.

Onn Hafiz was met by reporters after launching the Vertical Farming Project in Buildings at Farmbyte Archisen in the Nusajaya Industrial Park in Iskandar Puteri today.
