Fahmi Fadzil Expresses Condolences On Demise Of Rosli Manah

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil today expressed his condolences to the family of former Utusan Malaysia newspaper entertainment journalist Mohd Rosli Manah, 58, who passed away this afternoon.

He described the deceased as having contributed tremendously to elevate the country's entertainment industry for almost 30 years.

"Condolences to the family of former entertainment editor, Rosli Manah, who passed away this afternoon. May his soul be blessed and placed among the faithful," he said in a Facebook post this evening.

Earlier, Mohd Rosli's wife, Asma Ghani, 51, when contacted by Bernama today confirmed the sad news and informed that the deceased died at Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin Hospital, Kajang at 12.59 pm this afternoon due to kidney complications, diabetes and tuberculosis.

The body was prayed at Pekan Kajang Jamek Mosque and buried at the Sungai Kantan Cemetery this evening.

Earlier, Bernama reported that the deceased, who was also a former editor of URTV entertainment magazine, had been suffering from diabetes for the past seven years and his condition became critical after not taking his medication as scheduled, resulting in a brain infection.

The brain infection caused him to have difficulty speaking and required further treatment.

Rosli began his career at Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Berhad in 1993 and served for more than 25 years as a journalist and entertainment editor, including heading the Mangga Online portal.

After Utusan ceased operations in 2019, he took up various jobs to support his family.
