KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 (Bernama) -- More than 300 Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) students have graduated from a fast-track logistics credential programme designed to transform classroom knowledge into industry-ready skills.

The 12-day Professional and Industrial Credential Programme (KPTiP) was organised in collaboration with PKT Logistics Group (PKT), The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), and UMK, with funding from the Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN), under the Ministry of Higher Education.

PKT in a statement said the KPTiP was held at The Ship Campus, Batu Kawan, Penang, organised into two cohorts that the first held in February and the second in July this year.

“At The Ship, participants trained at PKT Logistics’ state-of-the-art facilities, gaining hands-on exposure to warehouse systems, inland port operations, transportation management and global best practices in supply chain management,” it said.

The statement further highlighted that the closing ceremony held on Aug 6 celebrated the achievements of the participants and featured the signing of two significant agreements to strengthen academia-industry collaboration.

“The first, an international Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PKT and Telkom University, Indonesia, aims to foster cross-border cooperation in education, talent mobility, and logistics innovation.

“The second, between PKT and UMK, will enhance research, industrial linkages, and workforce development in the logistics sector,” it said.

PKT said the programme reflects its long-standing commitment to nurturing future-ready talent, enhancing graduate employability, and boosting Malaysia’s competitiveness in global supply chains.
