JOHOR BAHRU, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has won the bid to host the Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques (SIGGRAPH) Asia 2026, one of the world's largest and most prestigious conferences for computer graphics and interactive techniques.
Deputy Digital Minister Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong said the event, to be held under the Malaysia MADANI government, will strengthen the country’s digital ecosystem and position ASEAN as a global creative powerhouse.
“Under Malaysia's MADANI government, we are fully committed to supporting this industry (computer graphics and interactive techniques) as part of our vision for a sustainable, inclusive and competitive future.
“As a testament to this commitment, I am pleased to announce that Malaysia has won the bid to host SIGGRAPH Asia 2026,” he said in his keynote address at the ASEAN Digital Content Summit (ADCS) 2025 at Persada Johor today.
Wilson said the conference is expected to bring together over 3,000 industry professionals from Asia, the United States and Europe.
SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 is expected to create new opportunities for collaboration, innovation and investment in Malaysia’s fast-growing creative technology sector.
SIGGRAPH Asia 2025 will be held in Hong Kong in December.
