KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) will carry out testing of the Malaysian Tsunami Early Warning System (SAATNM) sirens at two locations tomorrow.
MetMalaysia, through a post on the X platform today, announced that the testing locations are at Miri Central Park, Miri, in Sarawak, from 9 am to 11 am and Pantai Genting, Tumpat, in Kelantan, from 10 am to noon.
“It is aimed at testing the new tsunami siren system for the implementation of the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) at the locations in question,” it said.
MetMalaysia also advised the public, especially residents in the surrounding areas, not to panic over the sound of the sirens because it is just a test.
