KANGAR, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- The Agro MADANI Sales programme by the Perlis Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) generated RM1.98 million in sales from January to date, saving RM650,000 for the state's residents.
Perlis FAMA Director Mohd Anzara Azizan said the figure was recorded through 161 sales events, which involved over 250 local entrepreneurs offering a variety of fresh products at affordable prices.
"FAMA is always committed to providing the best service to the people through Agro MADANI Sales at marketing outlets statewide. This initiative not only helps consumers obtain goods at reasonable prices but also opens up market opportunities for agro-entrepreneurs," he said in a statement today.
The statement was issued in conjunction with the Agro MADANI Sales at the Masjid Al-Istiqamah Farmers' Market in Teluk Jambu today, celebrating FAMA's 60th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary.
Mohd Anzara said today's Agro MADANI Sales received support from the Lembaga Tabung Haji and the Perlis Islamic Religious Affairs Department, as part of inter-agency synergy to benefit the community.
"Among the interesting activities (at the event) are the MADANI Combo Sales, Tabung Haji Service Counters, a fruit-eating contest, and free basic health screenings for visitors," he said.
