KUANTAN, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- The Pahang Information Department (JAPEN) has taken a proactive step by reaching out to all districts in the state, including rural areas, to provide information on the implementation of the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) initiative.
Its director Rohani Chik said the move, which began last week, was intended to engage the public more effectively by handing out leaflets and sharing information on BUDI95.
She said the effort had allowed the department to receive direct feedback from the community on the initiative, which has been mostly positive so far.
“Before the implementation of BUDI95, we made announcements on social media. After its launch, we went down to the the field to provide information to the community and explain how they could benefit from the initiative.
“We also handed out leaflets to the community to help them understand more easily. On average, Pahang JAPEN visits 50 locations each day to ensure information reaches all segments of society eligible for BUDI95,” she said when met by Bernama here today.
Rohani said that apart from petrol stations, the leaflets were also distributed at areas frequented by the public, including supermarkets, bus stops and eateries, with the initiative being implemented continuously.
She said the department had also mobilised its mobile unit to help promote BUDI95 as well as other government initiatives.
“We are also collaborating with the Kuantan Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) to broaden the reach of this government initiative and ensure information is delivered widely and effectively to the local community,” she said.
BUDI95 has been implemented in stages since Sept 27, with 300,000 members of the Malaysian Armed Forces and the Royal Malaysia Police being the first group to benefit from the initiative, followed by more than five million recipients of the Sumbang Tunai Rahmah (STR) aid in the B40 category on Sept 28.
A total of 16 million eligible Malaysians began enjoying the benefits of the BUDI95 initiative yesterday.
