Bernama Receives Delegation From Public Relations Practitioners Society Of Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chairman Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai today received a courtesy visit from a delegation of the Public Relations Practitioners Society of Malaysia (PRactitioners) at Wisma Bernama here. 

The meeting, which commenced at 10.30 am, served as a platform for discussions on strategic cooperation between Bernama and public relations practitioners, particularly in the fields of media and communications.

Various avenues for cooperation were also discussed during the meeting, including the sharing of expertise, conducting joint programmes, and strengthening networks between Bernama and the public relations community in Malaysia.

The PRactitioners delegation was led by its chairman Datuk P. Kamalanathan, with Public Relations and Digital director Syed Mohammed Idid Syed Ahmad Idid and several other senior leaders in attendance

Bernama’s top management present included deputy editor-in-chief of the Economic News Service Azlina Aziz, head of TV Nor Hamzeela Md Hambali, head of Radio Azlan Idris, and head of the Commercial Department Mastura Hassan.

Meanwhile, Kamalanthan said PRactitioners would continue to support the role of the news agency and sought to strengthen the partnership through the Global Public Relations Conference and Festival 2025, scheduled to be held this November.

He said PRactitioners and Bernama also planned to organise a series of workshops nationwide to share experiences and foster connections in the fields of journalism and public relations.

“We have also informed Bernama management on how we can collaborate to further strengthen the public relations and journalism industry.

“Our intention is to ensure the continuity of the communications industry, and we are impressed by Bernama’s achievements since independence, as well as how the agency has helped broaden the reach of journalism and information to the public,” he said.

During the visit, the PRactitioners delegation toured the newsrooms of the Editorial Department, Bernama TV, and Bernama Radio to gain a closer insight into the agency’s information delivery operations, as well as its editorial and broadcasting processes.
