GSF: Three More Malaysians Detained By Israeli Forces, Bringing Total To 15 - SNCC

SEPANG, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- Three more Malaysian volunteers were confirmed detained by Israeli forces during the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission to Gaza after their vessel was intercepted at 3.39 pm today, bringing to 15 the number of Malaysians held so far.

They are Muhammad Hareez Adzrami, better known as Haroqs, Muhd Haikal Luqman Zulkefli and Taufiq Mohd Razif, who were aboard the vessel Free Willy.

The matter was confirmed by the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) here.

Earlier, 12 Malaysian volunteers were reported detained after their vessels were intercepted in international waters near the R3 red zone.

They are singer Nur Heliza Helmi and her sister Nur Hazwani Afiqah, who were on the vessel Hio; Norfarahin Romli and Danish Nazran Murad (Grande Blu); singer Nur Fazelah Mad Tahil or Zizi Kirana (Huga);  Ahmad Musa Alnuwayri Kamaruzaman, Iylia Balqis Suhaimi and Sul Aidil Sudi (Alma); as well as Muhammad Haikal Abdullah, Muhammad Muaz Zainal Abiddin, Mohammad Zulfadhli Khiruddin and Mohd Rusydi Ramli (Sirius).

Five other Malaysians have reportedly lost contact with SNCC, including influencer Nurul Hidayah Mohd Amin, better known as Ardell Aryana, and Rahmat Ikhsan Mohd Sofyan (PU Rahmat).

GSF involves more than 500 activists from 44 countries sailing to Gaza as a symbol of solidarity and an effort to break the Israeli blockade.

The humanitarian mission has drawn global attention, with participation from international figures including climate activist Greta Thunberg, Hollywood actress Susan Sarandon and Nelson Mandela’s grandson, Mandla Mandela.
