Malaysia's GSF Delegation To Be Brought Home Soon - Ahmad Farhan

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- The Prime Minister’s political secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi who is currently in Istanbul, Turkiye to help facilitate the return of all 23 Malaysian delegates participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission.

In a Facebook post, he said it was a matter entrusted to him by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to immediately bring all the Malaysians home safely.

"Their return will not be the end of the struggle for independence of the Palestinian people, but will be a symbol of how this small country of Malaysia is steadfast in its principles and has people who are brave in facing the cruelty of great powers.

"The prayers of the people and all friends are for the safe return of the country's heroes and heroines," he said.

Ahmad Farhan said through his meeting with all of them, almost all delegates are in good health.

"They appear stable and enthusiastic to continue defending the struggle for the liberation of Palestine. Their enthusiasm is hard for me to describe.

“Most of the activists had to throw their mobile phones into the ocean for fear that they would fall into the hands of the regime,” he said,in his message which was also shared by Anwar.

Last Thursday, 23 Malaysian activists who participated in the GSF mission were detained by the Zionist regime’s military after their ship was intercepted while in the waters of R3 Red Zone, in the Mediterranean Sea, and then taken to the port of Ashdod, Israel.

All Malaysian activists were reportedly released and departed from Ramon Airport, Israel, at 6.45 pm Malaysian time yesterday before arriving in Istanbul at 8.40 pm Malaysian time.

The Malaysians detained were singer Heliza Helmi and her sister, Nur Hazwani Afiqah who were on board the ship, Hio; Nurfarahin Romli (Farah Lee) and Danish Nazran Murad (Grande Blu); singer Zizi Kirana (Huga); Musa Nuwayri, Iylia Balqis and Sul Aidil (Alma); Haikal Abdullah, Muaz Zainal, Zulfadhli Khiruddin and Rusydi Ramli (Sirius).

Also arrested were Razali Awang aboard the Inana; influencer Nurul Hidayah Mohd Amin or better known as Ardell Aryana (Mikeno); PU Rahmat, Norhelmi Ab Ghani, Mohd Asmawi Mukhtar, Norazman Ishak (Estrella); Zainal Rashid and Ustaz Muhammad Abdullah (Fair Lady) as well as Muhammad Hareez Adzrami or better known as Haroqs, Muhd ​​Haikal Luqman Zulkefli and Taufiq Mohd Razif (Free Willy).
