Stagnant Floodwaters In Kedah: 19 Evacuees Remain At Relief Centre

10/10/2025 09:48 AM

ALOR SETAR, Oct 10 (Bernama) -- Stagnant floodwaters in Kedah left 19 people from six families still housed at a temporary relief centre in the Kota Setar district.

Kedah Civil Defence Force (APM) assistant director Major (PA) Muhammad Suhaimi Mohd Zain said all evacuees are sheltering at Sekolah Kebangsaan Langgar here, which has been operating since last Sunday.

“The flood victims remain at the relief centre as floodwaters have yet to recede fully due to stagnant flooding. However, the number of those affected continued to drop to 19 from 107 yesterday,” he said in a statement today.
