KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- Team Hunt Two Hunters emerged champion in the Bernama category, while 2R2L Hunters took the top spot in the open category at the ASEAN Amazing Hunt 2025, organised by Kelab Kakitangan Bernama (KKB) in the federal capital today.
The treasure hunt featured a series of interactive challenges designed to test participants’ knowledge of ASEAN, in line with Malaysia’s role as ASEAN Chair this year.
Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin said the event also served as a platform for participants — comprising media practitioners and members of the public — to deepen their understanding of ASEAN in a fun and engaging way.
“A total of 400 participants representing 63 teams were challenged to find answers throughout the ASEAN Amazing Hunt programme, testing not only their knowledge about Malaysia but also about ASEAN countries.
“I see this as a valuable opportunity for Bernama to provide a platform that fosters camaraderie, not only among its teams but also with participants from outside the agency,” she told reporters at the prize-giving ceremony.
Also present were Bernama editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, who is also KKB president; deputy editor-in-chief (Economic News Service) Azlina Aziz; acting deputy editor-in-chief (News Service) Mohd Shukri Ishak; and Management Services and Finance head Sharifah Zaini Syed Zain.
Nur-ul Afida added that participants also had the opportunity to visit seven iconic landmarks around Kuala Lumpur, which are popular tourist attractions, as part of their tasks.
“It was a wonderful initiative that should definitely be continued next year. Judging by the answers, the excitement among participants was clear — some got them right, some didn’t — but what matters most is that KKB succeeded in bringing together as many participants as possible to explore Kuala Lumpur more closely,” she said.
Team Hunt Two Hunters, comprising Sheikh Faizel Akbar Sheikh Mustafar, Abdul Halim Hafiz Mohamad Radzali and Kamarulzaman Yusof, took home RM3,000 as champions in the Bernama category.
Team Hora Horey claimed second place with RM1,500, while Boleh Saja came in third, winning RM1,000.
In the open category, 2R2L Hunters — made up of Ahmad Rijaluddin Ibrahim, Rafidah Satari, Liew Thien Seong and Liang Kin Wah — walked away with the grand prize of RM4,000.
Team Lipan Bara secured second place with RM2,000, while Curry Hunters finished third, taking home RM1,200. The fourth and fifth-placed teams received RM500 and RM300, respectively.
More than 50 lucky draw prizes were also given away, including television, electrical appliances and holiday packages.
The ASEAN Amazing Hunt 2025 was jointly sponsored by Takaful Malaysia, Wangsa Walk Mall, MyTeksi Sdn Bhd (Grab), 99 Speedmart, the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda), Pusat Pakaian Hari-Hari, AEON, Gardenia, Herbalife and MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd.
