KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- The Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is continuing to strengthen efforts to inculcate integrity at the grassroots level through the Wira Anti-Rasuah 2025 Programme, held at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Cochrane today.
The programme, organised by the Kuala Lumpur MACC Community Education Branch in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory Education Department, aims to instil the values of trust, honesty, and responsibility in primary school pupils to encourage them to reject corruption from a young age.
In a statement, Kuala Lumpur MACC said the event involving 1,000 SK Cochrane students introduced two of its pupils, Abdul Aziz Khair Ammar and Hasnanin Aish Faiha Hasmi, as the school’s first Anti-Corruption Hero Ambassadors.
“This appointment aims to inspire other students to emulate the values of integrity and avoid unethical practices in their daily lives,” the statement read.
The event was officiated by Kuala Lumpur MACC director Deputy Commissioner Mohamad Zakkuan Talib, who, in his speech, urged educators and parents to continue playing a key role in guiding the younger generation towards a life of integrity.
“Good guidance and example from parents and teachers can produce a new generation with pure hearts, free from corruption, and capable of becoming a bulwark against this crime,” he said.
The two-hour programme also featured the superhero mascot ‘Captain MACC’, designed to help students better understand the role and functions of the MACC as the nation’s anti-corruption agency.
The programme also provided awareness of the dangers of corruption and the responsibility of every individual to reject such crimes.
Meanwhile, SK Cochrane headmaster Ahmad Badri Mohamad thanked the Kuala Lumpur MACC for organising the programme and reaffirmed the school’s and Parent-Teacher Association’s (PIBG) commitment to supporting efforts to make educational institutions corruption-free.
“This programme demonstrates the continued support of the school and the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory Education Department for anti-corruption initiatives at the school level,” he also said.
