JASIN, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- The 2025 Melaka MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) officially opened today, showcasing a range of activities, including community initiatives, agency exhibitions, and defence demonstrations.
The three-day event at Politeknik Merlimau, themed ‘Aspirasi MADANI, Menjamin Pertahanan dan Kedaulatan Negara’, is organised by the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) of the Prime Minister’s Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Melaka state government.
The programme features an exhibition of military assets and equipment, giving the public a closer look at national defence capabilities and a deeper understanding of the Total Defence (HANRUH) concept, which emphasises protecting the nation through a “whole-of-government, whole-of-society” approach.
It also showcases special demonstrations and performances by the Malaysian Armed Forces, including war dogs, silent drills, a drumline, parachute jumps, firearms demonstrations, Hawk aircraft flypasts, and unarmed combat demonstrations.
In addition to the military exhibition, a range of services from federal and state agencies are also provided, including MADANI and Agro sales, motorcycle engine oil replacement programmes, free helmet exchanges by the Road Transport Department, and free haircuts.
Performances, including Mari Berselawat Bersama Raihan, Gema Perpaduan Generasi MADANI student showcase, a military fashion parade, as well as the Rock Kapak Concert, featuring artistes such as Datuk Ramli Sarip, Black Mentor, Akim and Stacy, will take place on the main stage.
The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is hosting a Pocket Talk: Healthy Internet Campaign and a session to explore skill enhancement and new career pathways on the MyMAHIR platform, offering visitors opportunities to discover career pathways and develop new skills.
The programme, running from 9 am to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm on Sunday, serves as a platform for ministries and agencies to highlight their initiatives and digital services, while engaging directly with the public.
The programme is set to culminate on Sunday (Oct 19) with the Kenduri Rakyat event, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Melaka was selected as the final location for this year’s PMR series due to its reputation as a world-class tourism destination celebrated for its heritage and culture, and for its distinction as a progressive state anchored in innovation, technological advancement, and the well-being of its people, in line with the Malaysia MADANI aspirations.
