KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo today at his residence in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said the visit was aimed at celebrating the spirit of unity and harmony among Malaysia’s diverse communities.
“May all Hindu devotees find joy in celebrating with their loved ones,” he said.
Accompanying him was his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Also in attendance were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
Anwar also shared seven photos from the visit.
In another Facebook post shared earlier, Anwar urged Malaysians to use the occasion of Deepavali to promote unity, reach out to those in need, and strengthen the spirit of togetherness that underpins the nation’s strength.
He emphasised that as a nation rich in cultural diversity and traditions, it is essential to continuously nurture and reinforce mutual respect and understanding among all communities.
