PONTIAN, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Flash floods that hit two villages here over the past three days have fully receded, with the only temporary relief centre (PPS) closed this afternoon.
Johor State Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Asman Shah Abd Rahman said the relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Penerok, which was opened on Oct 19, was closed at 2 pm today.
“The relief centre had housed 53 residents from 14 families as of noon,” he said in a statement.
The affected villages were Kampung Makam Penerok and Kampung Parit Bugis.
He added that no rivers in Johor are currently at warning or alert levels, and the weather across all districts has been reported as clear.
