KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with My Digital ID Sdn Bhd to integrate the MyDigital ID digital identity into the myPTPTN application.
PTPTN chairman Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim said the move is to enhance efficiency and improve user experience in accessing online services.
“This transformation brings great benefits to the public by enabling them to conduct transactions conveniently, quickly, and securely from their homes, campuses, or anywhere else,” she said at the MoU signing ceremony at Menara PTPTN here today.
PTPTN was represented by its chief executive, Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid, while My Digital ID Sdn Bhd was represented by its chief executive officer, Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim.
Apart from Norliza, present to witness the signing were PTPTN chief operating officer Mastura Mohd Khalid, My Digital ID deputy chief executive officer Ir Ts. Azrin Aris and the senior management from both organisations.
Norliza said the strategic collaboration is in line with the government’s aspirations under the National Digital Identity (NDID) initiative and the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDIGITAL), which form the foundation for public service transformation and the nation’s digital economy development.
She said the collaboration also demonstrates PTPTN’s commitment to becoming a progressive and customer-friendly digital organisation that is in line with the country’s digitalisation agenda.
“PTPTN has introduced the myPTPTN application, in line with the fifth thrust of PTPTN’s 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, which is to empower the organisation towards greater dynamism and excellence through digitalisation,” she said, adding that as of Oct 15, more than 2.8 million users have accessed myPTPTN online.
Through the platform, users can apply for loans, check their loan balances, make repayments, and open or top up their Simpan SSPN savings accounts easily, quickly, and securely.
Meanwhile, Nik Hisham said the collaboration not only supports the country’s digitalisation agenda but also lays a strong foundation for the growth of digital innovation in the education sector.
“More importantly, efforts like this help strengthen public trust in digital transactions, thereby contributing to the advancement of Malaysia’s digital economy,” he said.
