72 Indonesians Issued NTL Directive By AKPS

23/10/2025 10:13 PM

SEPANG, Oct 23 (Bernama) -- A total of 72 Indonesian citizens were prohibited from entering the country (Not To Land or NTL) after failing to comply with entry requirements during a screening operation conducted by the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) at the Pasir Gudang Port, Johor, on Oct 19 and 20.

AKPS Director-General Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the operation was carried out based on intelligence received regarding non-compliance with the procedures for entering Malaysia.

"What I want to mention is that we are not only focusing on the main entry points (namely Kuala Lumpur International Airport) but also other entry points," he told a press conference here today.

He also mentioned that AKPS is currently examining whether there are any 'counter setting' activities at the country's entry points.

“If there is any information from the public, they can inform AKPS, and we will try to verify,” he said.

Previously, Mohd Shuhaily said efforts to combat 'counter setting' activities at the country's entry points would be enhanced through stronger supporting policies.

He said the agency is looking into a policy to only accept members who have no disciplinary record to ensure the country's entry points are always tightly controlled.
