25/10/2025 02:16 PM

KUANTAN, Oct 25 (Bernama) – The Rahmah MADANI Sales Programme (PJRM) has recorded 21 million purchase transactions nationwide, with sales value of over RM800 million as of Oct 24.

Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Fuziah Salleh said that of the total, Pahang recorded more than 1.15 million transactions with a sales value of RM41.9 million.

She said the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Carnival had attracted 200,000 visitors for the past five series.

The carnival, held from Oct 24 to 26, also drew the participation of 53 local entrepreneurs, bringing the total number of entrepreneurs involved in the KPDN Carnival tour to 266,” she told reporters after opening the East Zone KPDN Carnival and Buy Malaysian Goods Campaign at Dataran Sayangi Kuantan here today.

Meanwhile, Fuziah launched the “Gula Rahmah”, which will be sold at all PJRM locations nationwide for RM2.70 per kilogramme.

The initiative, she said, is the result of collaboration between the government and industry players to ensure that the supply of sugar remains stable and affordable for consumers.

“This Gula Rahmah is produced by a local company and sold at Jualan Rahmah. Every month, the government allocates RM42 million to maintain the market price of sugar at RM2.85 per kilogramme,” she said.

Fuziah also gave an assurance that the supply of essential goods nationwide would remain sufficient throughout the flood season.

This, she said, is made possible through measures allowing wholesalers to increase their stockpiling capacity by up to 30 per cent above their licence limit.

"With this additional capacity, wholesalers can store more essential goods to ensure that people's needs are met even during floods.

“On the enforcement side, we are constantly monitoring prices through the implementation of Ops Kesan to ensure that prices of goods remain under control," he said.
