Margo Martin Captures Trump’s Arrival - “Thank You, Malaysia!”

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 (Bernama) -- A Special Assistant to the US President, Margo Martin, documented Donald Trump's journey on social media, applauding Malaysia’s hospitality throughout the arrival.

A warm welcome began with an impressive aerial escort and continued throughout the capital as President Donald Trump arrived to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits this morning.

“Thank you, Malaysia!” she posted on her X account https://x.com/margomartin47, sharing a short video of a Royal Malaysian Air Force fighter jet escorting Air Force One as it entered Malaysian airspace.

Air Force One landed at the Bunga Raya Complex, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), at 9.54 am, where Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received the President.

In a subsequent post, Martin shared a clip of the presidential motorcade passing through the serene Maju Expressway to the city centre, captioned, “President Trump’s motorcade drives through Malaysia en route to the ASEAN Summit”.

The presidential convoy included “The Beast”, the state car specially flown in for the visit, which will accompany Trump throughout his stay in Malaysia.

Earlier, after exchanging greetings on the tarmac, Anwar and Trump entered “The Beast" before the motorcade departed the Bunga Raya Complex for Kuala Lumpur.

This marks Trump’s maiden official visit to Malaysia and his first participation in an ASEAN Leaders’ Summit since returning to office.

Trump is the third American president in history to visit Malaysia, after Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966 and Barack Obama in 2014 and 2015.

The 47th ASEAN Summit, held under Malaysia’s ASEAN 2025 Chairmanship themed “Inclusivity and Sustainability”, gathers top leaders from the 10 ASEAN member states as well as key dialogue partners, including the United States, China, Japan and India.
