Malaysia’s Hadith Translation Into Malay Commended By Renowned Jordanian Scholar - Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s initiative to translate 3,200 hadith into Malay through Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) has been highly praised by renowned Jordanian hadith scholar Sheikh Dr Hammam Abdul Raheem Said Melhem.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, in a Facebook post today, said that Dr Hammam, who also serves as Global Al-Quds International chairman, conveyed his appreciation during a courtesy visit to the Parliament building.

“During the meeting, he further recommended that the monumental work be translated into English to enable its benefits to reach the international community.

“I have conveyed my gratitude and commitment to work closely with DBP to realise this proposal,” he said.

Ahmad Zahid said the meeting also served as a platform to highlight the government’s efforts in strengthening tahfiz institutions in Malaysia through the Tahfiz Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) approach, aimed at producing huffaz (Quran memorisers) who are well-rounded in both religious knowledge and professional skills.

“Sheikh Dr Hammam praised the initiative, describing it as a vital responsibility essential for cultivating community leaders who are well-balanced in both faith and knowledge.

“I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Sheikh Dr Hammam for his time and dedication. May the scholarly ties between Malaysia and Jordan continue to be blessed and yield meaningful benefits for the ummah, Insya-Allah,” he said.
