More Than 150 Entrepreneurs To Feature In HPPK2025 In Temerloh

28/10/2025 08:47 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) will organise the National Hawkers and Small Traders Day Carnival 2025 (HPPK2025) at Lurah Semantan, Temerloh, Pahang starting this Friday until Sunday.

KUSKOP Secretary-General Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud said the organisation of HPPK2025 is a continuation of the agenda to empower the entrepreneurial community, in line with the celebration of Hawkers and Small Traders Day on Nov 18, every year.

"That is why we chose the theme 'Driving the MADANI Economy: Empowering Micro Entrepreneurs' to affirm the government's commitment to bringing the economic development agenda closer to the people, especially at the grassroots level," he said in a statement today.

He said the organisation of HPPK2024 in Penang recorded an attendance of 44,000 visitors, the highest number since HPPK began, in addition to recording RM520,000 in sales and RM3.26 million in potential financing through government financing agencies.

Khairul Dzaimee said the achievement proves that HPPK serves as an effective platform connecting micro entrepreneurs, including hawkers and small traders, directly with market and financing opportunities.

"Based on this positive momentum, KUSKOP is confident that this year's event will not only celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of the people but also raise public awareness of the importance of Hawkers and Small Traders Day as a platform to appreciate the contributions of entrepreneurs who are the pulse of the national economy," he said.

According to him, HPPK2025 will feature the participation of 158 entrepreneurs from various categories, including eight food truck operators, 14 Anekarasa MADANI entrepreneurs, and 30 One District One Industry (SDSI) entrepreneurs.

In addition, 707 hawkers operating at the Temerloh Weekly Market on Sunday will also be featured alongside the participation of 20 federal and state government exhibition agencies.

"Various offers are also available, including the Jualan Rahmah MADANI and the introduction of quality local products from SDSI and Anekarasa MADANI entrepreneurs.

"HPPK2025 will also introduce various initiatives related to digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI), including marketing collaboration with TikTok Shop under the National Entrepreneur Group Economic Fund (TEKUN Nasional), entrepreneurship seminars by the National Entrepreneurship Institute Bhd (INSKEN), and the People's Territory Programme under Bank Rakyat," he said.

He said the move aims to increase digitalisation awareness among the public, hawkers, and small traders, including the use of cashless payments, which is believed to strengthen digital competitiveness and modernise the business operations of micro entrepreneurs.

The three-day carnival will also be enlivened with various events, including safety awareness programmes such as the free distribution of helmets by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), free motorcycle oil change, the implementation of the Community Satellite Programme, a Fun Run, as well as strong support from SOCSO (Social Security Organisation) and the Malaysian Prisons Department.

"In the same context, HPPK2025 is also a platform to celebrate hawkers and small traders by encouraging the public to spend, thereby increasing the entrepreneurs' sales as a sign of appreciation for their efforts.

"For this purpose, attending visitors will receive a coupon worth RM10 as an encouragement and support for local small businesses," he said.
