28/10/2025 09:19 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- Pintas Utama continues to strengthen its international presence by participating in the exhibition held in conjunction with the 17th Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA) Conference, taking place from Oct 26 to 31 in Goyang, South Korea.

According to the company, this marks its third participation in the REAAA event, a strategic move to expand collaborative networks and explore new technologies with potential applications in slope management in Malaysia.

“Pintas Utama believes that strengthening partnerships at both local and international levels will pave the way for more effective solutions to the current industry challenges,” the company said in a statement today.

The conference also saw Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi officiating the Malaysia Pavilion, where he presented a certificate of appreciation to Pintas Utama.

With a proven track record in delivering proactive slope solutions since 2017, Pintas Utama adopts a comprehensive approach encompassing data collection, design, construction, monitoring and regular maintenance, in line with the standards approved by the Public Works Ministry (KKR).

The company is also enhancing its preparedness for the northeast monsoon season, as the associated wind and rainfall patterns often heighten the risk of slope failures and landslides in several parts of Malaysia.

Chief executive officer Datuk Ir Marhalim Mohamed said the company’s Total Slope Solution approach goes beyond engineering innovation, reflecting its social responsibility towards public safety and the sustainability of national infrastructure.

“As the monsoon season approaches, readiness and proactive measures are our top priorities to ensure public safety remains at the highest level,” he said.

In addition, Pintas Utama is collaborating with the Public Works Department (JKR) to develop a digital and integrated national slope inventory, using technologies such as geotechnical surveys, Airborne Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) and drone mapping to identify slope risk levels nationwide. Experienced engineers are also developing innovative designs that emphasise environmental sustainability.

Maintenance work is carried out systematically, including drainage cleaning, structural inspections and tree trimming, to ensure slope stability and road user safety.

The company’s trained technical teams are stationed in several strategic states to respond swiftly during emergencies, conduct early monitoring in high-risk areas and prepare contingency plans in collaboration with local authorities and relevant agencies.

“Pintas Utama remains committed to ensuring Malaysia’s federal and state road networks continue to be high-quality, safe and comfortable for the continued mobility of the people,” the statement added.
