30/10/2025 04:59 PM

ISKANDAR PUTERI, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Over 350,000 users have registered to use the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIlSe) QR code at the Johor-Singapore border entry points.

Johor Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh said, however, the registration rate among Malaysians was still low compared to expectations.

“As of today (Oct 30), 358,000 people have registered for MyNIISe, and I hope more Malaysians will join in.

"For the motorcycle lane, which was implemented on Oct 15, approximately 15,000 Malaysians and 800 Singaporeans have used this system, bringing the total number of users to nearly 16,000 in the first two weeks," he said at a press conference after the official handover ceremony for the Variable Message Sign (VMS) project at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) in Gelang Patah here today.

He said there are seven outbound motorcycle lanes equipped with the MyNIISe system at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) in Johor Bahru, while at the KSAB, there are four inbound and four outbound lanes.

According to Mohamad Fazli, an additional inbound motorcycle lane at the BSI is also being installed with the MyNIISe system, and thus far, users have provided positive feedback regarding the facility.

He also urged more Malaysians to download and register for the MyNIISe application, as the system can be used for cars, motorcycles and buses.

In other developments, Mohamad Fazli said the project to replace and add electronic signs or VMS at the KSAB was completed three months ahead of schedule.

He said the RM3.6 million project, implemented in collaboration with the Home Ministry (KDN) and the Public Works Department (JKR), was supposed to be completed in December but was completed in September.

He also said 14 electronic signboards were installed in the complex area to improve the information delivery system at the country's entrance.

"Previously, we used manual methods such as banners and buntings, but with the VMS, all information can be displayed electronically and used to welcome tourists, including for Visit Johor Year 2026. Besides KSAB, the VMS system will also be installed at the BSI through an ongoing new replacement project," he added.
