RM425 Mln In Financing Channelled To Entrepreneurs, Cooperatives In Pahang – Ewon

TEMERLOH, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- A total of 24,592 entrepreneurs and cooperatives in Pahang have received loan and grant financing involving funds of RM425 million until Sept 30, said Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick.

He said the financing was channelled through Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia, TEKUN Nasional, SME Bank, Bank Rakyat, Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (Pernas), SME Corp and the Cooperative Commission of Malaysia (SKM).

"A total of 674 entrepreneurs also received entrepreneurship guidance and training from the National Entrepreneurship Institute, while SME Corp has also implemented various entrepreneurship development programmes benefitting 2,205 entrepreneurs," he said.

Ewon said this while speaking at the assembly ceremony with the staff of the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) and Pahang KUSKOP agencies here today.

Previously, Ewon was reported to have said that KUSKOP, through its agencies, had channelled RM7.96 billion to 282,849 micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs and cooperatives in the first nine months of this year.

Regarding the cooperative aspect in Pahang, he said a total of 56 new cooperatives have been registered this year, and 10 cooperatives received financing totalling RM9.03 million under the SKM Revolving Capital Fund.

"I truly appreciate the commitment shown by all officers and staff of the ministry and agencies in Pahang in ensuring all initiatives and assistance to entrepreneurs and cooperatives can be delivered effectively," he said.

Meanwhile, he said the Hawkers and Small Traders Day Carnival (HPPK) 2025, which is being held at Lurah Semantan here for three days, from yesterday, is targeting an attendance of over 20,000 visitors with a sales value of RM1 million and a financing potential of RM4 million.

HPPK 2025 features the participation of 158 entrepreneurs from various categories, including eight food truck operators, 14 Anekarasa MADANI entrepreneurs, and 30 Satu Daerah Satu Industri (SDSI) entrepreneurs.

Additionally, 707 vendors operating at the Pekan Sehari here tomorrow (Sunday) will also be paired with the participation of 20 government exhibitor agencies at the federal and state levels.
