23 Selangor Entrepreneurs To Participate In MIHAS, China

SHAH ALAM, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- A total of 23 entrepreneurs under the Selangor Entrepreneur Basic Transformation Training Programme (PLATS) and the Selangor State Development Corporation’s (PKNS) Entrepreneur Development Division will participate in the Malaysia International Halal Exhibition (MIHAS) in Shanghai, China, from Nov 5 to 10.

Selangor Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi said the participation aims to help local entrepreneurs expand their halal product market globally while building strategic partnerships with international industry players.

“Participating in MIHAS is part of the state government’s continuous effort to empower local entrepreneurs and help them penetrate foreign markets, especially in China, which has tremendous potential in the halal industry.

“We hope they will take full advantage of this opportunity to promote their products, establish new business networks, and gain valuable knowledge and experience to further grow their enterprises in Selangor,” he said when met after handing over laptops to 28  students from the B40 group here today.

Mohd Najwan said that among the products that will be exhibited are food and beverages, as well as health products.

He said the state government will cover 80 per cent of the exhibition booth rental costs for participating Selangor-based businesses, while the remaining 20 per cent will be borne by the participants themselves. 

“Last year, we brought a group of entrepreneurs to the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning.  Seeing the vast market potential, this year Selangor will continue its participation in Shanghai to further strengthen the international presence of the state’s halal products,” he said.
