1,500 Terengganu Students Participate In 2025 Pre-U Congress

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- A total of 1,500 pre-university students from schools across Terengganu participated in the 2025 Pre-U Congress and the Sijil Tinggi Pesekolahan Malaysia (STPM) Appreciation Ceremony, held today at the National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN) Wakaf Tapai, Marang.

The event, organised by the Terengganu State Education Department (JPNT) in collaboration with Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM) and the Prime Minister's Office, recognised 110 outstanding pre-university students for their academic achievements and leadership skills.

In a statement, AKM said the programme was not only well-attended by Form Six students, but also garnered strong support from teachers and parents, who were present to offer moral support to the award recipients.

The main highlights of the event included an inspirational address, the presentation of certificates to top-performing STPM 2024 students, and a leadership networking session for pre-university students from across Terengganu.

"In addition, 27 special awards were presented to the best-performing STPM 2024 students, further acknowledging their achievement," the statement read.

The statement also highlighted that the programme successfully achieved its objectives, with active participation from students who demonstrated a strong commitment to developing leadership skills and a sense of personal identity.

“AKM hopes that the Pre-U Congress and STPM Appreciation Ceremony will become an annual event, helping to develop knowledgeable and patriotic leaders among Form Six students in Terengganu," the statement added.

In his speech, AKM director-general Datuk Roslan Hussin, emphasised that  pre-university students are not only academic learners but also the future leaders of the nation.

"Continue your pursuit of knowledge, nurture leadership qualities, and cultivate a deep sense of patriotism. You are the generation that will lead Terengganu and Malaysia towards greater success," he said.

Meanwhile, State Education director Kamsah@Kamal Mohamed, expressed his pride in the students' achievements, urging them to keep striving for excellence and to continue developing into capable and competitive individuals.
