Malaysian And Indonesian Armies Begin 10-day Kekar Malindo Exercise

KUCHING, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- The 48AB/2025 series of the Kekar Malindo Exercise between the Malaysian Army (TDM) and the Indonesian National Army (TNI-AD) commenced today with an opening ceremony held at the 13th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (13 RAMD), Pakit Camp, Sri Aman.

In a statement today, the 3rd Brigade Headquarters Intelligence Cell said the bilateral exercise involves the 13 RAMD representing the 3rd Brigade and the 641/Bear Infantry Battalion (Yonif 641/BRU) representing the 19th/Khatulistiwa Infantry Brigade (Brigif 19/KH).

The 10-day exercise includes phases of theoretical classes, cross-training exercises and field training exercises (FTX CIW) in the general area of Bayai, Sri Aman.

“This exercise is an annual training between TDM and TNI-AD aimed at further strengthening cooperation through the sharing of knowledge, doctrines, as well as tactics, techniques and procedures in infantry operations,” the statement said.

It also said that 3rd Brigade Commander Brigadier General Khairuddin Zakaria and Commander of the 19th/Khatulistiwa Infantry Brigade (Danbrigif 19/KH) Colonel Inf Misael Marthen Jenry Polii officiated at the opening ceremony of the exercise with the Toha insignia presentation to participating personnel. 

“The conduct of this bilateral exercise is in line with the Fifth Pillar of the 30th Chief of Army's Maiden Directive, which is the Defence Diplomacy Shift, aimed at enhancing joint training efforts with friendly nations,” the statement added..
