KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin has been described as a leader, friend and figure who always strongly upheld his principles and consistently stood at the forefront of the struggle.
Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the Sabah BN chairman had also sacrificed much and contributed greatly to Sabah and the country.
“Thank you for all your services, sacrifices and contributions to the people, Sabah and the nation.
“My condolences to all his family members. May they be blessed with patience and strength in facing this trial. I pray that his soul is blessed with Allah SWT’s mercy and placed among the righteous,” he posted on Facebook today.
Bung Moktar, who was also the Kinabatangan Member of Parliament, passed away at a private hospital in Kota Kinabalu at 1.46 am today.
In the recent 17th Sabah State Election, Bung Moktar, who was also Sabah UMNO chairman, retained the Lamag state seat with a majority of 153 votes in a six-cornered contest.
