MOT Brings Improvements To Kampung Panchor, Kampung Baru Paroi Under Adopted Village Programme

SEREMBAN, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- The Transport Ministry (MOT), under the MADANI Adopted Village programme, will bring improvements to Kampung Panchor and Kampung Baru Paroi in this district by implementing several projects for the local communities there.

Its minister, Anthony Loke said that projects worth almost RM1 million have been approved for the well-being of residents there.

“Three major initiatives will be carried out, under projects coordinated by the Village Development and Security Committee - the upgrading of the playground and security fencing at the Panchor people’s housing project, the construction of a new arch at the entrance of the Panchor people’s housing project and the installation of an anti-climb galvanised fence at the Taman Jermerleng Indah Surau,” he said during his speech at the launch of the MADANI 3: Santuni MADANI, MADANI Adopted Village and School programme for his ministry here today.

The Negeri Sembilan Road Transport Department (JPJ) will also conduct several vital projects, including repairing a damaged drain at the Panchor people’s housing project, upgrading a damaged futsal court and tree-trimming and clearing to ensure the safety of residents, he added.

Loke also shared that his ministry is currently upgrading sports and community infrastructure in Kampung Baru Paroi, including the basketball court, upgrading public toilets and building signboards.

The MOT is also acting as a mediator to ensure that the public can deal with related agencies smoothly, including assisting applications for changes in land status from leasehold to freehold with the Lands and Mines Office and to resolve connection pipe issues with Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan (SAINS), he added.

Loke said that RM100,000 has been allocated to help several schools in the district under the MADANI Adopted School programme, and will focus on infrastructure, student academics and development.

"For Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Ampangan, allocation will be used to supply Google TV for digital learning, support teacher team building efforts and the paving of roads and parking lots for the school.

"Under the state JPJ, focus will be given to SMK Panchor, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Panchor by upgrading the resource centre, computer labs, and additional sports equipment,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) would focus on SMK Teriang Hilir in Jelebu through a Teacher Professional Development programme, upgrading existing infrastructure, organising graduation ceremonies and donating sports equipment.

Also, the Marine Department will channel RM100,000 in allocations to SK Mantin to support the implementation of academic and co-curricular activities, student affairs and infrastructure improvements to benefit 1,388 pupils there.
