Over 1,200 Micro-Entrepreneurs Record Rm22.4 Million In Sales Through IINSKEN Business Coaching Programme

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- More than 1,200 micro-entrepreneurs who completed 27 Institut Keusahawanan Negara Berhad (INSKEN) Bumiputera Business Coaching (IBBC) programmes this year recorded a total increase of RM22.4 million in sales.

The programme also created 710 new jobs, helped elevate 59 micro-entrepreneurs to the small entrepreneur category and recorded an average of 15 per cent increase in profit margins for café and restaurant businesses.

“In addition, INSKEN recorded a return of RM6.70 for every RM1 spent to implement the coaching programmes across Malaysia,” it said in a statement today.

It added that all entrepreneurs under the programme successfully prepared profit and loss statements, balance sheets, annual marketing plans, marketing materials, improved their products, and complied with the employee management checklist through INSKEN Mini Coaching.

Meanwhile, INSKEN chief executive officer Viviantie Sarjuni said the institute would continue to strengthen the development strategies for its micro and small entrepreneurs so that they are better prepared to compete in the new economy, in line with the start of the 13th Malaysia Plan.

“In addition to coaching programmes such as IBBC and Mini Coaching, INSKEN will also expand the implementation of social enterprise development and inclusive business initiatives.

“The achievements celebrated today demonstrate that capacity building is a key driver in enhancing the contribution of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP),” she added.
