KUANTAN, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- The Pahang government has been urged to consider implementing a rental assistance initiative specifically for the urban B40 group to help ease their financial burden.
The proposal was put forward by Chan Chun Kuang (PH-Semambu), who said the move deserves attention given the rising cost of living faced by the people.
“The urban B40 also require special attention so that they are not further marginalised,” he said when debating the state Budget 2026 at the Pahang State Legislative Assembly here today.
Chan also proposed the establishment of a Pahang-Federal Project Coordination Unit to reduce bureaucracy and expedite project implementation in the state.
He said such coordination is important to ensure projects announced do not remain merely on paper or face long delays.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, when interjecting Chan’s debate on non-Muslim places of worship, said any party wishing to deal with such matters may contact the Pahang State Secretary’s Office.
Chan had urged the state government to create a dedicated grant for non-Muslim places of worship to support maintenance works and the purchase of equipment.
Rizal Jamin (Appointed Assemblyman) proposed the establishment of a digital studio to enable those involved to develop and produce content more professionally.
He said this could be implemented as a pilot project in selected areas, targeting participants of state government training programmes.
Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji (PH-Tras) proposed that the state government build a food stockpile warehouse as preparation for unexpected emergencies or disasters.
The House will sit again tomorrow.
