KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 (Bernama) -- Mary Kay Inc, a global champion for women’s empowerment, has partnered with Germany’s Reiner Meutsch FLY & HELP Foundation to expand its global education initiatives, following earlier projects building and refurbishing schools in Africa.
The 11th Mary Kay School has been renovated in Dankotuwa, a small town in Sri Lanka’s Northwestern Province, providing a new chapter in early childhood education. The refurbished preschool accommodates 50 children aged three to five, featuring two classrooms, restrooms, and a playground, representing a meaningful step toward improving access to education in underserved regions.
“Education is the foundation of opportunity, and at Mary Kay, we are proud to champion a project that uplifts and empowers not only children but entire families and communities in Dankotuwa.
“This initiative is a vital part of our commitment to driving both social impact and economic sustainability for the people of Sri Lanka, creating lasting change that helps future generations thrive,” said Mary Kay Germany General Manager, Elke Kopp in a statement.
The Sri Lankan government has officially recognised the school, committing to provide qualified teachers, cover ongoing operational costs, and donate the land for construction, reflecting strong support for long-term educational development in the region.
The initiative was made possible through a partnership with Hemas Holdings PLC and funding of 42,000 euros. Construction was completed on schedule, with the school inauguration held in September 2025, attended by Kopp, FLY & HELP founder, Reiner Meutsch, and Mary Kay Independent Sales Directors. Mary Kay continues to advance its Pink Changing Lives Program, which raises awareness and funds for life-changing initiatives, including cancer research, support for survivors of domestic violence, environmental protection, and programmes creating opportunities for women and their families worldwide.
