Civil Servants Must Continue To Enhance Capabilities To Carry Out Duties Effectively - Johari Abdul

09/12/2025 05:12 PM

KLANG, Dec 9 (Bernama) -- Civil servants are advised to continue enhancing their self-capabilities and not to become too complacent with the current situation so that they can not only carry out their duties more effectively, but also contribute to a more sustainable and progressive national development.

Dewan Rakyat (House of Representatives) Speaker Tan Sri Dr Johari Abdul said current developments also require civil servants to possess leadership values, especially in tackling emerging issues, as they are constantly dealing with the community.

"Each of them must also cooperate with senior officials, discuss so that whatever is planned must have short, medium, and long-term goals, and never stop planning. If we are stagnant, we have a problem.

"That is why they (civil servants) must be dynamic, and I believe they have the spirit, and this spirit must be ignited for them to continue moving forward from time to time," he said when met after attending the Malaysia MADANI Nationhood Course with the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) here today.

Johari said civil servants must also constantly equip themselves with knowledge and skills to think outside the box.

"They also need to be a role model for those below, for the communities they lead, because most of them work at the grassroots level. So they must show a good role model to be followed by the community," he said.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) stated that the course gathered 106 NADI personnel from Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya to strengthen national literacy and civic understanding among the digital centre staff involved.

According to the statement, the NADI Malaysia MADANI Nationhood Course Programme is planned to be implemented in phases, with two more series scheduled for next year involving the participation of NADI personnel from other states.
