KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 (Bernama) -- Maxis Berhad (Maxis) has awarded scholarships to 10 outstanding undergraduates under its Maxis Scholarship Programme 2025, supporting students pursuing studies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and other fields critical to Malaysia’s digital and economic growth at leading Malaysian universities.

Maxis, in a statement, said the programme reflects its commitment to developing the nation’s next generation of digital and innovation-ready leaders, where each scholarship offers full tuition coverage, living allowances and priority access to internship and career opportunities with Maxis upon graduation, subject to academic and programme requirements.

Maxis Chief People and Transformation Officer Patrick Er said this year’s scholars demonstrated strong curiosity, thoughtful perspectives, and a willingness to learn.

“With the right guidance and opportunities, these qualities will help them grow into the leaders and innovators our nation needs. We are excited to support these talented students and are confident they will make a positive impact in their chosen fields,” he said in the statement.

The scholars received their awards at a ceremony at Menara Maxis today, presented by Maxis Chairman Datuk Johan Idris. The event also featured an address from its Chief Executive Officer, Goh Seow Eng.

To date, Maxis has supported more than 350 students through its scholarship initiatives, reflecting the company’s long-standing commitment to education and talent development as part of its broader mission to strengthen Malaysia’s digital ecosystem.

Meanwhile, SK Dashvin Kumar, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Sunway University, said this scholarship will be a transformative experience, and he is excited to join a community of driven individuals who share his passion and curiosity.

“This scholarship will be a transformative experience that will challenge me and help me become the person I aspire to be,” he said.

Lim Sin Thong, an accounting undergraduate at Universiti Putra Malaysia, described the award as a validation of years of hard work.

“Being selected as a scholar by one of the largest companies in Malaysia feels like my hard work has finally paid off. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to join the Maxis community as one of its scholars,” he said.

A Bachelor of Information Technology student at Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Nur Ain Safiyyah Mohmad Zahid, expressed gratitude and looks forward to acquiring the skills and knowledge needed to make a meaningful contribution in the future.

“I believe this scholarship will provide me with valuable resources and opportunities to help me grow as a person, build my confidence, and clarify my career direction,” she added.

The Maxis Scholarship Programme 2025 reflects the company’s goal of cultivating an artificial intelligence (AI)-ready, innovation-driven workforce capable of contributing to Malaysia’s future economic growth.

Through sustained investment in high-potential students, Maxis aims to empower the next generation of thinkers, builders and digital trailblazers who will contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth.
